Job Summary

The W.S. Grill Manager oversees and manages the activities and events of the outlet’s operations and staff.  Responsible for helping co-workers and other staff at Kah-Nee-Ta provide each of our guests a pleasant, enjoyable experience while running a financially sound operation.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Directs and motivates team by conducting daily and monthly meetings, inspecting staff’s work and giving guidance.
  • Interviews, hires and trains the service team in the procedures and techniques to use through performance for excellence training and standards.  Training includes detailed instruction on proper use of equipment and procedures to report any safety issues.
  • Maintain profitability of outlet to support overall Resort operations.  Control payroll and equipment costs (minimizing loss and misuse).  Ensure par stack levels are maintained by calculating inventory, ordering and retrieving supplies.  Evaluate cost effectiveness of all aspects of operation.  
  • Manage, plan, design, organize, implement, and evaluate all day-to-day operations.  Respond to guest needs as required to guarantee maximum guest satisfaction and quality operations.  
  • Performance of daily operational procedures which include opening and closing the outlet, daily accounting, which includes reports, guest checks, voids and complimentary charges.
  • Monitors attendance, provides coaching and counseling to ensure departmental policies are adhered. 
  • Monitors staff performance in all phases of job functions ensuring that all procedures are carried out to the departmental standards.
  • Circulates throughout the outlet, inside/outside to observe any safety issues.  The physical environment and equipment must also be checked regularly. 
  • Ensure cleanliness of the outlet—maintain a regular cleaning schedule, etc.
  • Determine which equipment is necessary for each activity and make sure enough supplies are on hand, while keeping in mind the department’s budget.  Obtain the necessary equipment and arrange for its storage. 
  • Must have a passion for working with people.  A lead-by-example approach is valuable in getting people engaged. 
  • Ensure all staff maintains a valid O.L.C.C. and Food Handlers permits.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school Diploma, or G.E.D.
  • Five years prior experience in related area.
  • Thorough knowledge of Food & Beverage outlet operations including foods, beverages, service techniques and guest interaction with three years supervisory experience.
  • Possess a valid Food Handler and O.L.C.C. service permit.
  • Must be able to read, write, and converse the English language.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and days including all holidays and weekends.
  • Supervise 20 employees or more.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and to lift lighter objects overhead.
  • Ability to see and hear to detect and respond to emergency situations.
  • SERVSAFE certified preferred
